A Great Success: BAU 2015 Attracted a Huge Number of Visitors

  • Kategorie: General, Innovations, Products

02. February 2015 | Outstanding results: enthusiastic stand visitors, promising contacts and a great mood

More visitors and more international than ever: every edition of the BAU trade fair succeeds in breaking its own records. For the first time in its 50-year history, the event has now broken the magic barrier of 250,000 visitors. There was also a lot going on at the joint SWISS KRONO GROUP stand. We’d like to thank our many visitors for all the interesting talks and worthwhile contacts!

One of our focuses at the fair was the KRONOPLY system modules. A 3-D model of our Feel-Good House, which illustrates the diverse possibilities for using KRONOPLY wood-based materials, attracted the attention of visitors. Right next to it, we provided detailed information on the individual system modules, in which various KRONOPLY products are perfectly coordinated. Trade visitors showed avid interest in these solutions: all of the copies of the corresponding brochure were gone by the third day of the event. “This enormous response showed us that we have hit the nail on the head,” says Uwe Jöst, Managing Director of KRONOPLY and KRONOTEX. “We’re delighted to meet the needs of existing and prospective customers with our products and facilitate the work of architects and installers with our system solutions.” KRONOPLY safe was also very well-received. Installers were visibly thrilled with this laminated wood-fibre insulation, which saves time by combining three work steps – insulation, water channelling and taping – in one. Visitors to the fair were also fascinated by the insulation underlay KRONOTEX silverline. Its aluminium lamination effectively blocks electrosmog. Alongside the perennial theme of “sustainable building”, the aspect of “healthy living” is gaining in importance.

We also presented KRONOTEX laminate floors and the laminate collections of the “rooms” brand in a separate showroom which was packed during the entire fair week. The latest new “rooms” decors premiered at BAU 2015 to great acclaim. The new oak decors in particular, featuring innovative nature-identical structures that look and feel just like real oiled oak wood, were major attention-getters. Vintage fans favoured the “used look” decors that are included in each of the four collections: penthouse, loft, suite and studio. “Visitors especially liked the mixture of classic decors and trendy looks,” says Jöst. “We’re very happy that our rooms customers are adding the new laminate flooring collections to their ranges, thus helping to expand the brand’s market.” Dealers and interior designers saw it as a clear benefit that all of the rooms decors have been upgraded to abrasion resistance class AC 5 and expressed great pleasure at the prospect of being supplied with the new Allover Wood surface on an exclusive basis for one year.

The idea of engraving folding carpenter’s rulers with guests’ names turned out to be a sensational success. The crowd of people waiting for one occasionally resembled a siege.

A group of trainees preparing to become master carpenters visited our stand and easily let themselves be talked into performing a traditional German carpenters’ song and dance number, to everyone’s great delight. “The visitors obviously felt very good with us,” says Uwe Jöst. “Our stand’s design, which was lavishly praised, made for very effective presentation of our products. And with such a good mood, a little dancing comes naturally.” Besides spontaneous activities like these, there was of course also plenty of serious discussion about the challenges and prospects of timber construction. We’d like to thank our customers, business partners and other interested individuals for the many fascinating conversations, and are already looking forward to the next BAU in 2017.

The cube behind it presented the system modules in detail. The ladies of the Hot Sax Club provided musical entertainment. Our bustling stand: plenty of visitors every day of the fair.
