Everything Is So Colourful Here!

  • Kategorie: Productos, Información sobre el uso

12. August 2011 | Living with Colour – Tips and Tricks “As white as snow, as red as blood and as black as the wood of the window-frame” is what it says in the fairy tale “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. Colours have always been associated with moods and impressions.

Correctly Coordinating Colours on Ceilings, Walls and Floors

People want to feel good in their homes. A home ought to provide a base and strength for dealing with life’s challenges in the big world out there. This makes it important to ensure right away that the colours of ceilings, walls and floors harmonise – a prerequisite for a home in which you feel at ease and can recharge your batteries. Properly used and accentuated, colours alter the visual perception of rooms and evoke moods. Bright, fresh colours make rooms look larger. Greater care is called for with warm and intense colours, because although they create a cosy, comfortable effect, they also make rooms seem smaller than they actually are. It’s also important to keep in mind that not all colours blend well with one another. And you should never use more than four different colours on the walls, floor and ceiling of the same room.

Floors: the Largest Coloured Surfaces

In any room, the floor is a large contiguous surface and its colour makes a stronger impression than that of the walls or the ceiling. Both its material structure and its hues decisively influence the overall appearance of a room. The floor is always within our field of vision – no matter how a room is used. So the floor colours need to be appropriate to the room’s use and they have to harmonise with the colours of the walls and ceiling. Using more than one floor colour is a good way to divide up a room, provide orientation or even prevent accidents. Indoor light is also reflected and absorbed by the large floor surface, so whether a room looks bright or dark depends to a great extent on the floor’s colours. The KRONOTEX Floor Studio lets you experience the huge range of different effects that result from varying the colours, laying angle and pattern. You can even realistically experiment with your own rooms by uploading photographs beforehand. Try it out!
